Building inclusive credit market infrastructure.
While our work bridging the retail and business credit gap is cross-cutting on all target beneficiaries accessing credit, it is particularly relevant for MSMEs who do not typically have access to collateral but access to finance for productive business investments.
Supporting efficient payments systems.
FSD Uganda supports the public and private sectors to build out payment architecture, rules and business models to allow the seamless flow of digital payments across the financial market system. Like most developing markets, Uganda’s payments system is fragmented and this creates barriers to accessing services. We broadly work to develop effective retail payments infrastructure and a conducive legal framework for a well-functioning market.
Facilitating and promoting inclusive savings, insurance and investments services.
FSD Uganda works to ensure access to and usage of a wide range of appropriate and quality financial products and services includes savings, insurance and investment. This will enable marginalised groups to create additional economic opportunities for themselves, save for emergencies, and protect themselves from financial shocks.
Creating an enabling business environment.
Our organization works collaboratively with regulators, policy makers and industry association to support macro and micro interventions that leverage dynamic changes in the market to ensure all Ugandans benefit from access to inclusive financial services.
