Synopsis: The project was aimed at reaching youth in the district of Kibale in western Uganda an giving them access to financial education and services through Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs). They would then be linked to a formal financial service provider, Post Bank, through a digitalised platform using AIRTEL services. The project was intended to promote digitalised financial services that addresses the problem of transactional interface and distance to financial access points, adapt and develop appropriate products that would respond to the specific financial needs of poor youth, raise financial literacy and build trust between supply and demand sides and train youth members in VSLAs on the use of technology.
